Training Lola

When Lola came to me she was sweet as always but a neurotic mess. She would run all over in the car and try to get in the front and underfoot. So we went to school and it was great for both of us. I learned how to communicate and she learned how to listen. Through time she calmed down. One of the best things I learned was to have her travel in a crate in the car. My instructor trains German Shepherds and all of his dogs travel in crates. It took her a while to get used to it, but she jumps right in now. Last year l was in a car accident (rear ended). My car was totaled and I have no doubt Lola would have went through the front windshield. Here we are with our diploma.

Lola Mae Adopted Me

Lola and I did a meet and greet in August of 2021; I can’t believe we’ve been together for almost 3 years. She was rescued from an abusive life in California where her job was to make babies. She was hit by a car and her owners let her leg rot on her body so it had to be removed. My first picture of her is the saddest dog I’ve ever seen and she was extremely skinny. We live in a small town in Oregon where she is well known from our daily walks. People don’t always remember my name but they know Lola’s. Lola is a delight and extremely gentle, especially with children.

I’m excited to join this community and learn how I can get tips on how to make life more enjoyable for her. Learning to navigate the site is a bit of a challenge but I’m sure I’ll get better.

How you are all staying cool and safe during this heat wave.
